Hi, I hope you enjoyed the my last blog on activities for your Children during the summer holidays that want cost the earth and find the information useful. On this blog I will mention about the Loch Lomond Aquarium and the Loch Lomond bird of prey center, both are a fantastic and safe day out for the family to enjoy.

Loch Lomond Aquarium: You will introduce you to many strange, beautiful and facinating creatures of the deep. Prepare for astonishing close views of everything from humble starfish to mighty sharks, all in displays which carefully recreate their natural habitats.

Loch Lomond Aquarium is just off the A82 at Balloch. Follow signs for Balloch and Loch Lomond Shores. Just 20 minutes from Glasgow. Loch Lomond Aquarium is situated within Loch Lomond Shores - home of the National Park Gateway Centre, shopping mall and tourist information office, By train:5 minutes walk from Balloch station, the center has full Disabled Access.

Loch Lomond bird of prey center: A small centre attached to a garden centre close to Loch Lomond. Around 30 birds in total. Regular flying displays should start at the centre sometime in 2006. They also run introductory days, hawk walks & hunting days. They are a modest Bird of Prey Centre, situated close to the village of Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond, and within the "Loch Lomond Homes & Gardens Centre". Our visitor centre is located within the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the first National Park in Scotland. We are conveniently situated, just 30 minutes from Glasgow, easily reached by car, bus, or train. A relaxing way for the family to spend a few hours on a day out

They have thirty eight birds of prey, representing twenty six species, from the small White Faced Scops Owl, they have Kestrels, Buzzards, Hawks, Falcons and Eagles, including "Orla", the Golden Eagle. The Glasgow Science Centre:

The ScottishPower Planetarium offers the chance to see a night sky as it should be seen, with thousands of points of light above us. Most city-dwellers have never seen a clear night sky, as light pollution is now a serious problem throughout the Western world. The controlled environment of the ScottishPower Planetarium with its amazing Zeiss Starmaster projector enables us to look afresh at the canopied heavens.
IMAX CinemaWith a screen bigger than a 5-a-side football pitch and a digital 12,000 watt sound system, the IMAX shows 2D and 3D films that will amaze and astound you. The IMAX camera looks at the world – and the universe – in a different way. After seeing an IMAX film you’ll never see a standard cinema the same way either.
Glasgow TowerExplore the workings of this unique piece of machinery,then take the 2 ½ minute ride as you travel over 100m skyward to the Glasgow Tower cabin to enjoy unrivalled views over the city and surrounding countryside.

Glasgow Science Centre’s Café is open during selected periods and serves light meals and hot and cold snacks. A Ritazza coffee pod serving light snacks, coffees and teas is situated in the Atrium, they also do a range of healthy vegetarain options at the cafe, the cafe does not sale baby food but the staff are willing to warm milk on request. Baby high chairs are available.
If you wish to buy someone a gift or a small reminder of the Science Center they have gifts from 20p to £100.

The Glasgow Museum of Transport: The museum uses its collections of vehicles and models to tell the story of transport by land and sea, with a unique Glasgow flavour. Here you will find the oldest surviving pedal cycle and the finest collection in the world of Scottish-built cars, the museum is totally free and all kids will love it.

Summer holidays Activities

Hello and hope you are all well.

In the next couple of weeks World Kidz Clothing are hoping to bring informative and useful information on activities on what to do during the Summer holidays for Parents and carers of Childrens and Babies.

The information that we are in the process of developing is Places to take your Childern that is safe, cheap and fun around the UK starting from a couple £1 up so £ 10, for we all know how expensive it is to entertain Children during the Summer holidays and especially with the recession with a tight grip on the UK.



We will be covering central Scotland Firsts of all then move down to Manchester then London.

If anyone has got some ideas of where they have been and the prices, or even if you think of places to avoid for maybe not worth the money or not Child safe, or if you think that we should include a area that we have not mentioned.

Callendar House: Situated amidst magnificent park and woodland, Callendar House tells stories spanning 600 years of Scottish history. Through wars, rebellions and the industrial revolution, the house has played host to many great historical figures over the centuries, including Mary, Queen of Scots, Cromwell and Bonnie Prince Charlie. Callendar House is nice to walk round with boating pond, kids play area and woodland walks.

We do strongly suggest you ring Callendar House before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.

Stirling Castle: Stirling Castle All kids love castles and this is without doubt one of the grandest of all Scottish castles, both in its situation on a commanding rock outcrop and in its architecture. The Great Hall and the Gatehouse of James IV, the marvellous Palace of James V, the Chapel Royal of James VI and the artillery fortifications of the 16th to 18th centuries are all of outstanding interest. The views from the castle rock are spectacular. The Great Hall has recently been restored to how it would have looked around 1500. Displays on castle's history, medieval kitchen and attractive cafe. All apartments in the castle are accessible apart from the Museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Only the medieval kitchens and Elphinstone Tower are not suitable for visitors using wheelchairs. The ground floor of the shop and the book shop are accessible. The castle cafe has a ramp. Braille information boards are on display.

Falkirk Wheel: As the world’s first and only rotating boat lift, The Falkirk Wheel is quite simply unique. There are many events that take place throughout the year at The Falkirk Wheel with also a good playground on the site for the Children to let off steam on.
